Permiculture and Food Forests
Most modern permiculturists still recognize food forests as a foundation of the whole movement. But one of the like unintended consequences is that newly initiated, young permiculture practitioners have attempted to grow food forests intemperate climates. And with that, we've kind of reached the critical irony. Because it turns out that there have been forest gardens here in the temperate world all along. It's just that many settlers, scientists andpermiculturists have been as oblivious to these indigenous food systems as early ethnographers were to those in the tropics. They've been here allAlong.
