The Irony of Affirmative Action

I think very few people even know that affirmative action is practiced in other countries around the world. In Malaysia, for example, they use affirmative action to boost the Malaysian majority. The irony is, in a place like Korea, there they have a test-based system, but then they have a few slots that are holistic. You know who gets those holistic slots? The rich kids. It's not the poor kids. I'd rather have it be the transparent system where we're going to give you so many points for whenever the things are and everyone knows what those points are. Then at least we have better information.
