The Adventures of a Native
A man is left stranded on a canoe after being bitten by a caterpillar. He tries to swim for his life, but can't see the canoe in the black of the water. After 10 days he discovers an egg inside one of the eggs and eats part of it. The story ends with him dying from starvation or exposure to the elements.
