How to Find Seals on the Ice
Scientists estimate 809 hundred thousand seals in antarctica. They fly over areas, take photos and count them. But that's not how seals are found on the ice. So they ask for help: Would people just stand on the street corner and hand out copies of satellite images? It works! You can find signs of both seals and hidden tombs through satellite images. The tomb hunters created the citizen science web site then they opened it up to scientists around the world.
