The Dangers of Authoritarianism
The danger is when it stops being a healthy discussion of our differences and teeters into the hands of people who want to stomp out pluralism and tolerance. The closest sort of parallel would be, I think, the wicker concentration camps that China has in Xinjiang. But you know, we're not saying by coming here that authoritarianism leads in one step to exactly this again. We're just saying it leads to very bad things. And for example, what Putin is doing in Ukraine is an example of that.
