The Chinese Communist Party's Resistance to the 17 Point Agreement
Under the 17 point agreement between 1951 and 1959, colonial incursion by China into Tibet is minimal. However, many Tibetans are not happy with this relationship. The CIA tried to support resistance movements and guerrilla war tactics in Amdo and Com region. They fail miserably, they are crushed. At least 10,000 Tibetans died during this clandestine guerrilla fighting that was going on in Eastern Tibet.
