The Effects of Estrogen on Breast Cancer Risk

There's been a lot of discussion over the years that these isoflavones or phytoastrogens may act like anti-astrogens, but it's very difficult to point to any clear anti-astrogenic effect in clinical studies. When you look at three markers or sort of health outcomes that are affected by the hormone estrogen in post-manopausal women, they're not affected by soy or isoflavone. So again, our understanding has, it's based on animal studies and you often don't see those results replicated in humans.
