The War on Poverty Did Not Fail

CNN's Christiane Amanpour asks Phil Borsuk what he thinks about rhetoric from the 1980s and 1990s. She points out that we spent trillions of dollars during the pandemic, which has contributed to our current debt crisis. A recent MIT study says there is no evidence poverty rates have decreased as a result of government spending on social programs. "We spend more on social programs than any country," she writes in an article published by The New York Times.
