The Settlement Pattern of the Balinese Valleys
From lima to the north coast of peru, there are a bunch of these coastal valles. All of them have multiple centers. And we're not even sure how people really related to them. One idea that's prevalent is that each one of those monuments corresponded to some kind of small scale polity.
