Do You Stand Firm? And Now Praise Be to God Who Is Able to Keep You From Slipping?
At the end of jude, there is this doxology, which means t th writer goes on and he's explaining things. And then ultimately he just breaks out and lifts up praise to god. The letter was written to warn people to contend for their faith in the midst of uncertainty. They still lived in uncertainty, but hope was restored. Hope became durable because it wasn't in their own ability that they would be able to withstand a current. It was in the fact that god almighty is able to keep you from stumbling.
