Why Do We Live in Darkness?
Some ancient Jewish thinkers noticed some odd things in Genesis 1. They conclude that this first light is actually the light of God's presence. The rabbis go on to suggest that this is the light that will be preserved for the righteous, i.e. when sin entered the world and humanity could no longer live in the perfect light ofGod's presence.
