I Was a Student at a Good School, but I Was Desegregated and Elite School
In middle school, Eliegan read a textbook that explained the difference between capitalist development and socialist or communist development. In 1962, it was not legal to be a member of the Communist Party. "You must have been a student at a good school where they weren't worried you'd go astray learning these things," she says.
