The Importance of Distraction in the Digital Age

There is such a cultural bias against an unhurried life. Slow has become a pejorative in American culture. When the service is bad at a restaurant, we call it slow. We're always looking for that diversion instead of the deep work as you talk about the deep rest and renewal. But even on that, I wanted to hit on that, that royalty aspect, that that used to be the affluent thing, man. If you were a well-to-do person, you weren't busy. You had razor. That was the sign of wealth. Now it's the opposite.
