Freedom of Choice Is a Product of the Choices People Make

The liberal view was perfectly comfortable denying these basic liberal rights to whole groups of people, so long as they could say, for instance, women are a dependent class who are wards of the state. If you look at mass incarceration, just the most, you know, incredible system of government repression like perhaps ever erected on this earth, ah, by a liberal order. And it's that freedom of choice that liberalism prizes that creates a loophole to undermine liberals' foundational promise.
