Aren't Sharks Essentially Unchangeable for More Than 3 Million Years?

The Atlas blue butterfly has the most chromosomes of any eukaryotic and diploid creature at between 448 and 452. Two thirds of all people who have ever been over 65 years of age are alive today. Despite claims of living fossils, there is no evidence for any extant species existing for more than about 3 million years.
