Many interviewers would emphasize constraints they set up to access the family's wealth. Just giving your children money as a gift, this was morally unacceptable. Work wis seen is essential, but also as supplementary and not to be relied upon. Once participants i spoke to had enough wealth that they could provide enduring financial security for their families,. pretty much independent of the labour market.
