Is Money a Sign of Commitment?

Why is it a that people don't value something unless they pay a large, anough amount for it? That's the question, mam. And like, i don't think it has to be money, right? But money is the easiest way for people to put skin in the game and signal that they are committed to something. Oftentimes people just spend money because they want to feel good, even if they're not committed tosomething.
