House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was expected to make his own visit to Taiwan. But it's now been announced that he will meet with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen in the U.S. The move is seen by some as a way for him to distance himself from Nancy Pelosi, who visited last year. CNN's John Defterios says this puts Republicans in an awkward position.
