The East India Company and the British Army

British India was conquered in the first place by a for profit corporation, the East India Trading Company. In 1814 they declared war on Nepal, which was at that point known as the Kingdom of Gorka. The British Army today still fields battalions of Gorkas recruited basically as mercenaries from Nepal and paid far less than their British citizen counterpart. This sounds like Game of Thrones.
