I want you to talk a little bit about the importance of using oral traditions as a historic base. Archaeologists have always pretty much ignored Oral traditions and we know that indigenous people and indigenous histories have been dehumanized any race For the last hundred years in in american archaeology. When I worked as a field archaeologist for five years straight I got firsthand experience of how disrespectful a lot of archaeologists were to indigenous people That's not saying they all are some work really hard to work with indigenous people But it's a small percent of the overall group So what I found is that some Environmentalists some people that study volcanoes had matched oral traditions of explosion events and of floods in the northwest usa
