Early mediaeval societies adapted structures from the roman period to their needs. They did not have at their disposal the same resources as the roman empire had, so obviously they had to be creative. And this leads us to soro, the second big pillar of the book, which is adaptation. It's about looking at how early mediaeval societies approached those introstructures that were left from the rRoman period.
