Taking the Opposition Stands

The word extremist is become as much of a buggy man as the word, you know, terrorist or communist. In a debate, would call this tactic, creating a straw man. You can do the same thing with sock puppetry. So taking the opposition stands, pretending to be one of the people you oppose, but making their position look so extreme and unpleasant that people won't want to identify with it. Sometimes you only have to take it a little bit further.
