Zara grew up in the Montessori system. Erica's sister-in-law is a Montessori school teacher. Amanda: If this is even a cult at all, what do you think the cult of Montessori schools is? Zara: I feel like it is clearly culty because you're dealing with the hearts and minds of little itty bitty kids. The stakes do feel higher than a cult that is mostly geared toward adults. Amanda: As long as there are structures that invoke respect and well-being or whatever, then they can learn math.
