The central bank is the smallest part. The banking system could be anywhere between 50 to 20 times the size of the GDP itself. Even when we look at the real economy while only about half of the GDP is let's say from the western countries on the developed markets almost 80 to 85% of transactions happen in developed market currencies. Now put yourself in the position of China who you could argue today is the true threat to say the hegemony of the US. But it truly isn't in a lot of ways because the Chinese one is almost irrelevant as far as the global currency system is concerned or controlled by somebody else.
