What Is Human-Computer Interaction?
I think good technology is limited. I don't think there's any sort of universalizing product or anything like that. So I try to think about how can we recognize the limitations of a tool and appreciate what it can be good for. Human-computer interaction started as an official discipline in the 1980s and early 1990s, but its disciplinary parents are cognitive science and computer science. The field has just ever widened with smartphones and wearables and smart home and devices moving through public space.
