Trump followers believe what Trump tells them. There's no kind of collective sensibility about who we are as a country at this point. It's just sharply different views. And Trump, I mean, if you look at the speech he gave at Marilago the night he was indicted after he flew back from New York, it was full of grievance, not surprising.
