The Importance of Magna Carta
Magna Carta has been invoked throughout American history as a symbol of a kind of universal right. It's believed, for instance, that it was the birth of modern democracy. Before we can understand how Magna Carta served our democracy, we have to look back at how it was supposed to serve a 13th century monarchy.
