A good analogy of gas lighting is the story of the emperor has no clothes. Anyone who says he's not wearing anything, ow dof the gas lim you must be crazy. In that way, i can never be falsified. So if i just create two of every category of thing, no matter what verse you bring to bear r against my system, i just take that verse and drop it in whatever category i want to drop it in. That's how you make a certain set of beliefs unquestionable and unfalsifiable.
