The Stronger By Science Podcast

CHAPTER

The Androgen Paradox and the DHT Paradox

In most parts of your body, where you have hair that's sensitive to DHT, it's net anabolic. Whereas on the top of the head, it seems to be net catabolic. The problem is as the subcutaneous layer of fat gets thinner, there's essentially more pressure between the follicle itself and like your skull. And this guy is proposing that it's not a paradox at all. In fact, DHT is still pro anabolic for the androgen sensitive follicles on the topOfTheHead. So they can kind of like have a bit more biochemical push behind them to grow down far enough so that they can grow full hairs.
