Is a Loan a Transfer of Ownership?
Is it even fair to talk about a relation, an employer, an employee relationship and apply that to the question of a loan? Is a loan something just different? Well, that's the thing. That's the distinction that Aquinas really draws, is that a loan constitutes a transfer of ownership. And a sochiatas does not. Sochiatas is a partnership wherein two people agree to enter into an enterprise together. Whereas with a loan, if I give you something, then you have it and now it's yours.
