The Heritability of IQ Tests in Children

Our intelligence is just fixed. We can make small changes to it, but it's always going to naturally want to come back to this true genetic value. The heritability of something like IQ when you measure it in children is high; there's also an effect of the shared family environment. So it's not necessarily that the genetics is getting stronger. It's that the environmental effect that you see maybe is temporary.
