Is the Missing Matter Really Missing?

Researchers found dark matter in the galactic halo, which is a tenuous cloud of gas and stars. The researchers had to stack images of three separate galaxies together to build up that signal like stacking photo negatives on top of each other. Young galaxies should be chucking regular matter out at pretty high rates because of star formation and supernovae,. So really, we don't think that matter should be in those galaxies. It should be gone.
