LZ: How did Lincoln first come into your life? LZ: I grew up in Illinois, which is called the Land of Lincoln. Very early on, I started reading Lincoln and reading about him and was hooked. He says there's just a change in his reputation that you say is something like amnesia. The No Child Left Behind Act squeezed out the teaching of civics and history in favor of STEM science technology curriculum.
