Paul's Theology in a Different Context

Paul's letters don't work that way. Paul's writing a different context and he'll say different things because the people he's writing to are different. This church in Rome is going to have new Gentile converts who are just coming out of their pagan ways. And then there will be Jews who once formed the core of this believing community, including proselytes. So, we've got brand new Gentiles. We have believing Gentiles and we have Jews. It doesn't change the bulk of Paul's arguments in the first few chapters nor his conclusions. All of humanity deals with the same brokenness. No matter which law we submit to, we all fall short.
