Portal Vein Thrombosis

Most patients I've seen with portal vein thrombosis have been picked up coincidentally because they've had some mild abdominal pain that I've gotten in the ultrasound. Most of these patients have INR two or three or four or five or six so warfarin can't be used. Fractionated heparin like adult parent and these drugs are used all the time in patients who have thrombotic conditions such as cirrhosis.
