Java 1.6 or 1.7? What Version of Java Are You Using Right Now?
"We still support, believe it or not, all the way back to Java 1.6 or 1.7. We tell our customers they should only be using 1.8 or later for security reasons and we're up to 1.17," he says. "You can take old versions of Java and update them with the latest security patches and make them secure" He adds that open source is a big problem because dependencies get very complicated.
