The Process of Natural Selection and Human Knowledge
In addition to being information, knowledge has this extra property: it can cause itself to remain embodied in physical systems once it's created. We don't have a mechanism that is kind of explanatory enough to tell us how new knowledge is created in general. So that's something that I think it would be really interesting to study. And ultimately, this is important from a more narrow-minded point of view. I think it's important for even our own survival, because the fact that humanity is surviving so far depends on the ability to create knowledge.
