Mentoring Women in the Field
Sally Kohn: I feel like this, at least while reading the book, it felt like a book that was meant to also mentor a future. This is very interesting to you also. The one, my favorite of these photographs is the one showing Carrie Barbour was cleaning out some of the matrix around a beautiful Apatosaurus femur. And I think it's a beautiful picture because the bone is so massive and the work that she's carrying seems both extremely technical but also physical. She says we don't get to see a lot of women in the field and especially women from the 19th century or early 20s working in the lab.
