My parents had made their stand that they didn't go for this. So I made my stand that I was going to proceed. My dad's community and family were more accepting of an interracial marriage, but not necessarily enthusiastic at all. What would be the benefit? I mean, you know, you're just going to cause troubles for you and your kids. And yeah, and it was rare back then, especially in Spokane,. It was a little more prevalent in Seattle or Los Angeles or something. But pretty rare across the U.S., particularly between Japanese and white people.
