The Impact of Bedrock Topography on Ice Loss

The bedrock topography was predicted four decades ago by US glaciologists. Taking into account which bits of the bedrock are sloping makes a big difference to how quickly ice can be lost over the next one or 200 years. The IPCC estimate for the same climate scenario that we looked at for sea level rise by the end of the century was between 42 and 80 centimeters, so a two and three chance of being in that range.
