The cello, so often the rhythmic catalyst for this piece, starts the real awakening. The music immediately takes on an extremely agitated character. It's worth reflecting just for a moment again how traditional the structure of this quartet actually is. A sonata form first movement, a slow movement, and now a last movement which starts with an introduction and then is in sonata form.
