The Dangers of Describing People's Looks
When you describe people's looks, are you worried that you're reinforcing stereotypes? No, but I have. Isn't there a thing looksism? Well, of course, but sexism, there's racism and looksism. People who look a certain way, you should make certain inferences. Is there any way we can describe people’s looks that doesn't run that danger? Probably not. It puts the reader in a position of being outside the person looking at them.
