"Roughly 15% body fat is the ideal race weight for an endurance athlete," says Mike. "I think whoever came up with those body fat recommended body fats for different types of athletes, that was a big mistake because it's not all about that number" If someone comes to you saying they're 21 percent body fat and want to get down to 12, ask them if they've ever been around 12 percent or below. It takes less time to figure out when they have some guidance and some objective, you know, feedback there versus doing it on their own.
