Casefile True Crime
The Story of Gregory's Death
Gregory Vilman's body was found in the Valone River on October 16. A composite sketch of a middle-aged man with brown curly hair and glasses was released by police six days after his death. The press quickly picked up on the case, and journalists from all over France flocked to La Pange. Dozens of people had spent time near the water that night but no one saw anything out of the ordinary. One woman noticed what she thought was a garbage bag floating in the river at around 530 pm - it turned out to be an empty plastic bag. It is believed Gregory died sometime between 6pm and 7pm; he might not have been thrown into the river until hours later
