Blake's Reproductive Engravings
Blake's work as an artist took mostly the form of reproductive engravings from about 1779 to 1799. His lines were sometimes crudely cut, and violently and determinately struck in a way that wasn't as fashionable at the time. He also stuck to a very linear style of engraving when often small points or cross-hatching and tones of light and shade were more common.
