When you stick a turbocharger on an engine, it tends to level out the velocity of your exhaust gases. It evens out the speed across the RPM range. And that had been one of the bigger sticking points, I think, up until there. So this is back in 83, this is in the turbo era, the Renault were using the turbo engines.
