The Power of Desire

The energy of desire is a primal force, which basically is driving some sorrow. In Pali, the word is Tanha, and it's been translated in different ways,. often as desire or craving, or thirst for a hungering. But its importance is highlighted in the very first words that the Buddha has said to be either thought or uttered after his enlightenment: "Achieved is the deathless"
