The Risks of Including Non Concurrently Randomized Control Patients in a Trial?

When you include non concurrent controlled patient, you want to watch of for potential temporal biases or differences that exist between a concurrent randmis to non concurrent randams. As patients were RANDamise at different time points, there may be a change in patient characteristics, a change in standard care. So the response rate may differ between these two types of control group. You want to account for this temporal variability in eursitical analysis.
