Why Would I Send an Email to My 350 Direct Reports and Ask Them to Do Something?
"I went to see Colonel Martin and I explained in a meeting with him what I was looking to do," he said. "What I'm really looking for, Ted is would you send emails to your 350 physical training instructors and ask them if they'll organize a swim?" If 100 people said yes, they'll swim in any way they wanted to, then that's 5,000 people or 50 people at each swim on average,. And he said, why would I send an email? The world did slightly stand still for me because I thought, aha, this man is really quite busy."
