I like that you don't even have to make the bet. You just have to kind of imagine making the bet and it shifts you into that truth oriented mindset. I think there's a number of things going on here. Part of it is just imagining the stakes and noticing that you're hesitant to risk losing $1,000. Just that fact of picturing what would it look like to find out whether I was right about the servers being secure? That also goes a long way towards noticing what do I actually believe is going on here because the more abstract the claims are to yourself, the easier it is to kind of get away with BS if that makes sense.
